One million tons of plastic are produced in Switzerland every year. Most of it is burned. Nevertheless, there are now various offers to recycle plastic. But does this really have an impact on the climate?

Plastic collection has also arrived in Switzerland at the latest since you can hand in your plastic waste to wholesalers for recycling. After all, we use 125 kilograms of plastic per person per year. Despite this, there are still voices from the scientific community who say that reusing plastic as we know it today is missing the mark. What is it now? Can plastic be reused at all and does it have a climate impact?

In the new episode of SRF CO2ntrol, Jara Helmi gets to the bottom of the matter and gets the necessary facts from Judith Maag, the manager of a recycling yard.
