Math star Yitang Zhang and the prime numbers – knowledge

US-Chinese mathematician Yitang Zhang has had an amazing career. He completed his doctoral thesis in 1991, but after that he couldn’t find a job, he worked as an accountant or made sandwiches for the Subway fast-food chain. But in 2013, the then 58-year-old, now a lecturer at the University of New Hampshire but still completely unknown, suddenly stepped into the limelight of the mathematics community with a single groundbreaking work. Now he’s published a new proof, and once again the math world is in a frenzy.
