Inca explorers don’t have it easy. They spend their lives trying to understand this empire better, fathoming its culture, politics and legal understanding. Just the question of how it is inca managed to keep their 950,000 square kilometer empire together is a mystery. The researchers cannot hope to discover an Inca text, such as digging up something like a “Codex Hammurabi” between Ecuador, Chile and Argentina, or a dusty “Athenaion Politeia” off the shelf in the library of an abandoned mountain monastery to pull.
