Berlin. The Nature Conservation Union (Nabu) has been calling for a large bird count since Friday. The “Hour of the Winter Birds” is taking place for the 13th time. The call is to count birds in the park, in the garden or at the bird feeder on the balcony and report them online. Telephone reports are also possible, as the Nabu announced.
According to Nabu, the “Hour of the Winter Birds” is Germany’s largest scientific hands-on campaign. In the previous census in January 2022, the house sparrow or sparrow was the most counted winter bird in Germany, followed by the great tit and hooded crow, among others.
